Organization Description:

Broad Street Ministry (BSM) was created in 2005 as a broad-minded faith community with an aspiration to create a more just world through civic engagement. By 2008, BSM was fully actualizing this version by serving a Thursday meal to address the needs of Philadelphians living deep in poverty. By 2012, this secular program grew to three meals per week. Today, their flagship program, the Hospitality Collaborative, provides five weekly meals alongside critical services and basic needs support to an average of 300 individuals per meal, leading them to more positive outcomes. BSM’s long-term vision is to not only meaningfully reduce the trauma and suffering caused by scarcity for Philadelphia’s most vulnerable populations, but, along with best of class social service and government partners, break the cycle of poverty, homelessness, and hunger in Philadelphia.
